At 1:30am on race day, we drove through rain to the ferry – the boat of no return. By dawn, I was diving into the icy Aysen Fjord, surrounded by jagged peaks and moody skies. The swim was cold, the bike brutally windy, but the run brought me back to life. Sharing those final kilometres with Pierre through Patagonian forest and waterfalls made the finish line unforgettable. 11 hours, 42 minutes, 2nd woman, 10th overall – and an experience I’ll carry forever.
