The New Balance 1080v15 represents a more substantial update to one of the brand’s most established and widely used running shoes, continuing its focus on everyday running comfort while introducing new materials and design changes aimed at cushioning and long-term performance.
An all-new Infinion midsole foam, replacing the previous Fresh Foam X platform, has been introduced to deliver enhanced cushioning with improved energy return, supported by a high stack height (39.9mm heel / 33.9mm forefoot) and a 6mm drop. The new foam is designed to be lighter and more responsive than the material used in the 1080v14, resulting in a noticeable reduction in weight compared to the previous version. This configuration is intended to position the 1080v15 as a well-cushioned option for daily training, longer runs and recovery sessions.
The lightweight upper has been designed to balance breathability and support, with moulded contour details aimed at creating a secure fit. Runner-focused features include a cushioned tongue and heel tab, reflective detailing for low-light visibility, and stretch laces intended to allow for a more adjustable feel. The updated, modernised contour mesh upper is engineered to improve breathability while delivering a more secure and plush fit.
Despite its deep cushioning, the 1080v15 is lighter than the previous generation, dropping from approximately 296g in the 1080v14 to 261g (men’s 9.5) and 208g (women’s 7), reinforcing its role as a versatile shoe for a wide range of runners.
