The Steyn City Ultra Trail returns in July

A scenic and safe trail option for Joburg runners returns. The Steyn City Ultra Trail, which debuted last year, is back at the Steyn City parkland estate on Saturday 11 July 2026.

Organised by In-Reach, the race takes place on the estate's maintained trail network, which previously hosted the Auto & General Xtri cross-triathlon. Runners can expect clearly marked routes, accurate timing and water points on course, with a race village, partner activations, entertainment and prizes for top finishers at the finish.

This year the event adds a new 15km distance to its programme, bringing the total number of options to four.

  • 7.5km — a shorter route suited to newcomers and those looking for a quicker effort.

  • 15km (new) — a mid-distance addition for runners building toward longer trail events.

  • 21km — a half-marathon distance on single-track with views across the estate.

  • 53km ultra — the longest option, taking in river crossings, the Steyn City Golf Course, the Jukskei River and a number of outdoor artworks on the estate grounds.

Sponsors and support

The event is supported by title sponsor Steyn City, race village partner Retail Insight, hydration partner NPL and Castle Lite.

Entries are open at the In-Reach Running website.
