Velociti Elite 3: Under Armour’s sharpest race-day weapon yet

The Velociti Elite 3 makes an immediate statement in its striking green colourway – bright, aggressive and unmistakably race-ready. The design looks fast from every angle, with a minimal upper and tall midsole that clearly signals its intentions. One detail that stood out was the textured fabric of the upper, which gives the shoe a unique feel compared with many other racers. Even the laces follow that theme with a slightly serrated texture that helps them stay secure once tied.

The upper is extremely lightweight and breathable, built more like a racing flat than a traditional trainer. Fit felt true to size for me, and once laced up, the shoe holds the foot securely without feeling restrictive. There isn’t a huge amount of padding around the collar or tongue, but that’s typical for a shoe designed with racing in mind. Despite the minimal upper, the lockdown through the heel and midfoot feels impressively secure.

Underfoot, the Velociti Elite 3 uses a Pebax-based midsole combined with a full-length carbon plate designed to maximise propulsion. With roughly 39mm of cushioning in the heel and around 31mm in the forefoot, the shoe sits right at the upper end of modern racing shoe stack heights. The cushioning feels light and responsive rather than plush, and the shoe feels impressively light both in hand and on foot (235g for a size 45).

As the pace increases, the Velociti Elite 3 really comes alive. The combination of the carbon plate and aggressive rocker creates a strong sense of forward momentum, almost encouraging you to keep pressing on. The outsole uses a lightweight rubber layout focused on the main contact zones, and the grip on the road felt secure even during faster efforts.

Verdict: The Velociti Elite 3 is clearly built for race day. Light, responsive and fast, it’s the shoe I’d reach for when the goal is running hard and chasing a time.
