New Balance have just released an update to the SuperComp trainer.
The V2 is no light update - they made some wholesale changes. While many brands are shifting upwards NB have reduced stack height by a whopping 7mm. In the process they have reduced weight by a massive 50 grams.
The great looking v2 also features a gusseted tongue to keep it in place, a lightweight engineered upper with no sew overlays, and a more open step-in to reduce heel rub. Each aspect adds to the comfort of a shoe designed to go long.
The lower stack height combined with a flexible, forward shifted midsole plate flex point and softer foam gives runners more stability and comfort. This is an energy-return technology high mileage training shoe. The new FuelCell SuperComp Trainer v2 keeps the Energy Arc technology with an arched carbon fiber plate sandwiched between two layers of FuelCell cushioning, leaving a hollow channel through the middle of the shoe. As you run the plate is flattened into the open space with each foot strike, and like a trampoline it returns energy as it reshapes, creating a high rebound sense of propulsion.
