The Garmin fēnix 9 series, launched in August, is made for adventurous, serious athletes that play hard.

The series includes the fēnix 9, the fēnix 9 Pro, and the fēnix 9 Pro inReach multisport GPS smartwatches.

The fēnix 9 features a sapphire, scratch-resistant lens, leak-proof buttons, and a dive rating up to 40 meters. The most notable changes compared to the fenix 8 include an AMOLED display, said to be twice as bright as its predecessor, 50% more RAM and 30% faster map panning, which allows greater map detail and storage. The fēnix 9 comes in three sizes: 43mm, 47mm, and 51mm, all with up to 29 days of battery life in smartwatch mode.

The fēnix 9 introduces Garmin’s new Epic feature, allowing adventurers to combine multiple activities over days, weeks and months into a single overview called an “Epic”. It also offers enhanced stamina tracking, including stamina zones and a stamina curve designed to help athletes pace themselves properly. Garmin has expanded its Rucking feature, which is especially useful for runners and hikers using hiking bags or weighted vests.

The fēnix 9 Pro has just that little bit more than the base model. It is the first fēnix model to feature a titanium watch case, providing a sleek look and lightweight feel while still maintaining its rugged performance. It features solar-charging displays with weeks of battery life, a green-light mode in its flashlight for preserved night vision on overnight expeditions, and inReach connectivity. This model is designed for those who want to be truly immersed in their surroundings while out exploring. Adventurers can stay in touch and receive emergency help while leaving the phone at home.
