Salomon introduces the Genesis 2, a trail running shoe designed for a range of terrain, with cushioning, a stability-focused chassis and protective construction in a lightweight build. The Genesis 2 builds on the original Genesis, with updates to the midsole dynamics, outsole grip and chassis construction.
What's new from the original Genesis:
New activeCHASSIS™ system
New outsole lug pattern and geometry
New, lighter Matryx® upper
Revised lug shape and placement for grip
The Genesis 2 uses an updated optiFOAM midsole, which provides cushioning and rebound while maintaining stability on technical terrain. The rocker geometry is designed to support smoother transitions through the stride across varied surfaces and changing elevations.
The activeCHASSIS™ system has been redesigned and is integrated into the midsole construction. It's built to provide guided support and stability while allowing freedom of movement through technical sections, descents and uneven ground.
The outsole uses updated All Terrain contaGRIP® rubber with a revised lug geometry and 4mm lugs, designed for traction across a range of terrain conditions.
The upper is built with a Matryx® construction — technical fibers woven for abrasion resistance, airflow and flexibility. It's designed for warm weather, humid conditions and extended time on trail.
