A recap on Blue Lagoon Triathlon

Whoa what a blast that was!!

Perfect hot summer Greek island style weather, including Mediterranean temperature, calm ocean water and no wind on the bike.

We loved seeing athletes smiling faces as the start horns went off and you raced into the delightfully warm gentle waves, under the catamaran, then out of the harbour across to Hobie beach through the crowds at the 2XU arch.

Through the water trough and onto your aero weapons and out towards Saldanah past the iconic steel mill. Flat fast flight time with no wind - giddyyyeeeuuup!!!

The 2 or 4 laps up to the windmill and down to the sea encouraged by the polite and bubbly Langeberg and Curro school kid volunteers, spectators and fellow athletes alike. The much anticipated Penbev drinks stand was an oasis of iced water, Coke & Coke Zero.

Finally that delicious ocean breeze turned on gently as back markers ran along the harbour wall, to turn at the lighthouse toward party central at the Club Mykonos yacht marina with packed restaurants and pumping dance music.

It was high 5's hugs and crazy fun Valentine's vibes on the buzzing finishline before calming down with a post race Deep Heat massage. From there on it was beers, tequila and pizza as we headed into an epic live music after party.

Huge congrats to the over 150 first timers who either did their first tri or finished a standard distance triathlon for the first time - we are so proud of you all!!

These photo albums are also being shared on our FB and Insta pages so check and tag away.

Don't stress, if you didn't find yourself among these head over to

http://www.capetownsportphotography.co.za/ where you will find more than a couple you can order.

Those who ordered medals will have had a finisher medal printed on your number and received it on the finish line when you handed back your timing chip.

Results of all the Saturdays triathlons and Sunday swims can be found here. You can also download your finish certificate on the site.

The swanky black & orange 'Cape Triple Tri' medal you saw on display is awarded to all those who do the 2023 BLT (done ✔️) Prescient Race2Hermanus supported by SEESA Sprint or 100km Ultra on 13 May, and RSA Web Cape Town Triathlon - planned for 8 Oct.

Early bird entries for the Prescient Race2Hermanus Triathlon are open. The event shirts are truly next level and we have even more spoils for you this year. As if you need any more treats than the most beautiful tri route on earth. May means no wind and yes more drink stations in place in Hermanus. If you train consistently for 3 months your first ultra tri beckons. It's only 700m total ascent on bike and 200m on the run. Yes you can.

Thank you once again for gifting us with your presence. We hope to see you all again in May, - until then train safely and stay beautiful.

Last but not least thank you to the team at Club Mykonos, our incredible host partners, as well as CIOVITA, 2XU, Thelema wine, Peninsula Beverages and Prime services.
